Company search

Company search built on official registers

Pick a country, a region, a NACE sector, a headcount band and, where companies publish it, a revenue range. Findingbase returns the companies that match, read from official registers, with the source and collection date of every value.

  • One classification for every country

Sectors are searched with NACE Rev. 2.1, the EU classification. National codes (NAF in France, WZ in Germany…) are kept as published and mapped through official correspondence tables, never assumed identical.

  • Regions that mean the same everywhere

Regions follow the EU NUTS levels, so “a region” is comparable from one country to the next, down to département or district level where the source allows it.

  • Size and revenue, as published

Headcount comes as official bands, with their reference year. Revenue is shown only where a company publishes its accounts: an empty value means “not published”, not zero.

  • Criteria we cannot apply are named

If a criterion is not available in a country (revenue, for instance), the result says so instead of silently returning fewer companies.

What you can search on

  • Country: France is live; Germany is a pilot with partial coverage. See coverage by country.
  • Region: NUTS regions, translated into the national geography by each country’s adapter.
  • Sector: NACE Rev. 2.1 at any level, from a section (letter) to a class (four digits). Browse the 22 sections.
  • Size: harmonised headcount bands (0, 1–9, 10–49, 50–249, 250–999, 1,000+), mapped from the national bands.
  • Revenue: a minimum and maximum, applied only where revenue is published.
  • Age: creation date after or before a given date.
  • Keywords: matched against names and activity descriptions.
  • Signals: keep only companies with a given kind of recent signal (a new site, new management…).

What a company record contains

Registry identity (name, registry number, legal form, status), activity code (NACE and the national code as published), location, headcount band, revenue where published, creation date, and, after enrichment, the company website and its generic contact details.

Every field carries its provenance: the source, the date we collected it, and how sure we are (official, verified, probable, or inferred by AI). Inferred values are never displayed as verified.

Closed and opted-out companies

Companies struck off or closed are excluded from searches and flagged in your lists. In France, companies that asked the national statistics institute not to have their details distributed for prospecting are excluded from the results.

Frequently asked questions

Is it a database I download?

No. You search official sources through Findingbase, keep the companies you want in your workspace and work them there. Exports are available on paid plans.

Why is revenue missing for some companies?

Because they do not publish it. Many small companies file confidential accounts or are not required to publish a profit and loss account. Findingbase shows revenue only when it is published, with its year.

Which countries can I search?

France is live. Germany is a pilot with partial coverage: companies visible in public procurement and larger companies with an LEI, with AI-inferred activity codes. Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain are planned. The coverage page lists what is available, country by country.
