Buying signals

Buying signals that say why now, and how sure we are

A company list tells you who exists. A signal tells you when to call. Every signal in Findingbase is dated, links to its source, explains why it can matter commercially, and is labelled with its nature: declared need, indirect signal or AI hypothesis.

  • Declared need

The organisation said it publicly, for instance a call for tenders. The strongest signal: nobody has to guess.

  • Indirect signal

An observed, dated event that often comes before a purchase: a new site, a contract won, new management, a registry change.

  • AI hypothesis

A need our AI deduces from the facts. Always labelled, shown with its reasoning and the facts behind it, never as a fact.

  • Source and date, always

Each signal shows when it happened, when we collected it and where it comes from, with a link to the official record when there is one.

Where the signals come from

Official publications first: national company registers and legal announcements (in France, SIRENE, the national company register and BODACC), public procurement notices from TED for the whole EU, and awarded-contract data (DECP in France, the national procurement data service in Germany). The company’s own website is used for observed facts such as a missing or broken site.

We do not use purchased intent data, tracking of individuals across the web, or platforms whose terms forbid it.

Negative signals are signals too

Insolvency proceedings and closures are shown as warnings. A closed company leaves your searches; a company in proceedings is flagged so that you can decide whether to approach it, and on which terms.

The buying signals guide lists every kind of signal, its nature, its source and where it is available today. Some signals, such as hiring, are planned and marked as such.

Frequently asked questions

Is an AI hypothesis a fact?

No. It is a reading of facts by our AI, shown as a hypothesis with its reasoning and the facts it relies on. You decide whether it holds before using it.

Do you track website visitors or individuals?

No. Signals are about companies and come from official publications and the company’s own website. Findingbase does not track people across the web.

How fresh are the signals?

Each signal shows the date of the event and the date we collected it. Sources are read on their own publication rhythm, so the collection date is always displayed rather than promised in advance.
