Why two sites rather than one

The two products answer different questions for different people. A registered US federal vendor wants to know which contracts in its industry are about to end. A French sales team wants a list of companies it is allowed to approach. Nothing about the data, the rules or the buyers overlaps, so putting both behind one login would make each one harder to understand.

  • Two applications. Each site is its own codebase, deployed and updated on its own.
  • Two databases. An account, a subscription or a search on one product does not exist on the other. Nothing is shared, copied or matched between them.
  • Two sets of rules. findingbase.com follows US law on commercial email (CAN-SPAM). findingbase.fr follows French and European law on company data and prospecting (GDPR, and the SIRENE register’s own publication restrictions).
  • Two audiences. findingbase.com is written in English for vendors registered on SAM.gov. findingbase.fr is written in French for businesses selling in France.

What they share

The name, the logo, and the operator. Both products are published by the same French sole trader, whose identity and postal address appear in the footer of every page on both sites and in each site’s legal pages. The same working principle applies to both: public data, deterministic rules, and a plain statement of what the software does and does not do.
